Are-your-Employees-HappyHave you thought about utilizing technology to improve employee satisfaction?  Have you implemented technology to help your employees manage their health?  Use of technology not only makes patients happier, but employees too–what’s more it also impacts your organization’s bottom line.

According to webmd.com, “Technology must play a central role for proposed health care reform to contain costs, improve access, and save lives.” And this extends into the realm of employee engagement and satisfaction at work, something that employers and business owners are learning the value of now.

How Your Business Can Get Involved

A number of businesses and corporations are modifying the ways in which they connect to employees.  One such way may be through the use of in-office dispensaries.  What if your employees could do more with their healthcare plans, receive additional discounts and benefits, and if you could provide access to those?

Consider the potential savings we published last month when it comes to offering on-site clinics/dispensaries through self-funded plans.

  • For generic pharmaceuticals, our analysis revealed that employers could recognize savings of 50-60% from the cost of employees having their prescriptions filled at a retail pharmacy.
  • The size of the target formulary was 100 medications in each of the cases.
  • In addition to recognizing direct savings, the employers were able to eliminate patient co-pays for medications dispensed at the clinic.  This added another 10%-12% in overall savings.
  • For the groups in this study, the annual savings totaled over $250,000 for the 100 generic medications in the formulary.

An increasing number of industries are harnessing the value of increased customer/consumer engagement when it comes to their healthcare. Giving your employees access to an on-site dispensary will allow them the ability to manage their medications in ways they never could before and result in savings for them and for you as well.

Let Northwind Pharmaceuticals help you navigate the idea of “employee” satisfaction and how hosting an on-site dispensary can get you there.
